Work Set During Corona Outbreak

Hi Everyone,

Just in case you are interested, there is a YouTube channel offering teaching in areas such as Maths, English and History.  It’s called LPDS TV and the first one went out this morning (Monday 20th April) at 9:30am and can be found on the link: https://youtu.be/1-5Al-8pEBQ

The lessons this morning covered ‘Super Sentences,’  ‘Maths Magic’ and ‘History around the Home’.

It’s definitely worth a look šŸ˜Š

Hi 5R and 5M.  Just to let you know that most of the work is being set on Seesaw.  If you can access a computer or iPad you should be able to complete the work on there.  If you are having problems logging on, please try to get a message to us.  You will be able to phone school because there are some members of staff in but obviously only do this if you cannot log on and cannot access any work.

Children please also log on to their prodigy, mymaths and TTrockstars accounts to practise their maths and timestables. They can use the spelling sheet below to practise the year 5 & 6 spellings.

Science

We are currently studying the theme of Space in Science.  Please could you research the eight planets in the solar system.  You need to state:

- how far the planet is away from the sun

- how large the planet is

- what the planet is made from

- an interesting fact about that planet

LO: to find out what stars are and to investigate the constellations.

Research;  How a star is formed?  How stars die?   What is a supernova? Why do stars twinkle?  What are constellations?

CHALLENGE

Create a constellations books -  how many constellations can you find?

Draw several constellations on a small piece of paper.   Stick the small pieces of paper onto a larger piece of paper to create the night sky.

Work Packs - if you have completed the above work, start working through this if you have no access to seesaw or cassdojo
